Networks

With its global links, The IEA Greenhouse Gas R&D Programme (IEA GHG) is in a unique position to facilitate cooperation between the leading research groups on greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation. IEA GHG therefore coordinates several international research networks. The networks bring together the expertise and experience of organisations at the forefront of research, development and demonstration into GHG mitigation technologies. The networks currently opperated by the IEA GHG include:

International Network for CO2 Capture

The network acts as a forum for those working on CO2 capture test facilities. The aim of the International Network for CO2 Capture is to stimulate world-wide collaboration and encourage practical development of Post Combustion CO2 capture technology. Information can be found on the IEA GHG CO2 Capture and Storage site by clicking >>here

International Network on Biofixation of CO2 and Greenhouse Gas Abatement with Microalgae

The objective of this network is to promote research and development of microalgae-based CO2 abatement technologies by providing a forum for organisations already engaged or interested in this field. Information can be found on the IEA GHG CO2 Capture and Storage site by clicking >>here

Non-CO2 Greenhouse Gas Network

The network provides a forum for researchers working on emission inventories, mitigation options and energy modellers and others interested in policy options involving the Non CO2 greenhouse gases. The network brings together an international team of leading researchers and policy advisors. >>more

Risk Assessment Network

There are a number of risk assessment activities for the geological storage of CO2 underway around the world. The network brings together research groups active in the field of risk assessment and provides a forum for exchanging information and the latest results. Information can be found on the IEA GHG CO2 Capture and Storage site by clicking >>here

Monitoring Network

The network will bring together the main research groups currently active in the field of monitoring of CO2 in geological formations. The network would allow the discussion and critique of monitoring work that is currently underway and develop a view of where it should go from here.
